About the Author
A graphic designer by day and closet theologian by night. That was how Matt lived his life for the first four years after he had committed his life to following God. It has always been an achievable dream for Matt to enjoy international attention; living in his own rustic-shophouse-type design studio; choosing his own clients; designing a whole range of furniture; start work at noon everyday; filling a museum with his art; and to enjoy a life full of sushi, friends and family.
In year 2005, God gave an undeniable call for the then twenty-year-old Matt to prepare himself to enter ministry. This call from God changed everything. From year 2006-08, God gave him the chance to take night classes from the Assemblies of God Bible College (AGBC) while serving his National Service in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). After getting out of the SAF in year 2008, Matt enrolled into AGBC for full-time studies working towards his Bachelors in Theology. Matt plans to get his Masters in Divinity some time in the near future.
Matt’s passion lies in two areas — the graphic arts and deep philosophical thinking. Due to the creativity given him as a designer, and his training to properly handle Scripture; Matt is big on contextualization and actively seeks to make Scripture applicable to modern living. He believes that while much of Christianity is a mystery, it is certainly not mysticism. Thus the motivation of his ministry is to help people deepen their love for God by demystifying Christianity through proper teaching of Scripture and challenging redundant traditions.
Now Matt dreams new things — to travel far and wide, preaching the gospel and to witness salvation embrace the lost, destitute and seeking.
